UV & IR
Supplemental Light Bars Set
Different wavelengths of light directly influence how plants grow, flower, and yield. Supplemental light bars give you precise control over UV and IR spectra to maximize results.

Light Models and Recommended Supplemental Light Bars
| LIGHT MODEL | RECOMMENDED SUPPLEMENTAL LIGHT BARS |
|---|---|
| G3000/ G4500/ G5000/ SE3000/ SE4500/ SE5000/ SE7000/ SF1000/ SF2000/ SF4000 | 60cm/GlowR40 |
| G8600/ G1000W/ SE7000/ SE1000W/ | 90cm/GlowR80 |
Note:
1.If you have the SF1000 light, it is recommended to complement it with a 60cm supplemental light bar for use in the Spider Farmer 70 x 70 x 160cm grow tent.
2.If you have the G/SE3000 light, we recommend installing it by hanging, as the bracket installation may not accommodate the slightly longer UV30&IR16 ligjt bars.

Steps to Set Up After Connecting to the App
1. Plug the device into our power strip kit and ensure it remains powered on.
2. Open the Spider Farmer App and locate the corresponding [outlet] section. Switch it to [ON].
3. (Optional) Rename the [outlet] to match the connected device for easier identification.
4. Choose a control mode – there are 6 in total, but for supplemental grow lights, the first 3 modes are usually sufficient:
- Manual Mode: Turn the device on or off manually via the app.
- Time Slot Mode: Freely set which days of the week the device should run and during which time slots.
You can either:
* Choose specific days and assign up to 5 time periods per day, or
* Apply the same time periods to every day of the week. - Cycle Mode: Set a start time, then define how long the device should stay ON and OFF, and how many times to repeat.
Example: Start at 12:00 PM → ON for 1 hour → OFF for 1 hour → repeat 2 times.
The result:
* 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM ON
* 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM OFF
* 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM ON
* 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM OFF
Frequently asked questions
- UV Light
UV light is best used during the vegetative phase and mid-to-late flowering stage. It enhances resin and terpene production while boosting plant resistance. - IR Light
Infrared (IR) light is most effective from the late vegetative phase through the flowering stage. It promotes stem elongation, induces flowering, and helps regulate the plant's circadian rhythm. - Deep Red Light
Deep Red light is particularly beneficial during the core flowering stage. It increases photosynthesis efficiency, encourages blooming, and supports fruit development.
660 nm deep red light is considered the "golden wavelength" in horticulture lighting. It offers several key benefits:
Highly efficient absorption: It is directly absorbed by chlorophyll, ensuring minimal energy waste.
Boosts photosynthesis: Maximizes light energy use to support vigorous plant development.
Ideal for vegetative growth: Especially beneficial during the growth stage, helping plants grow stronger and healthier.
IR Light
Turn on IR light 10–15 minutes before the main light turns off and keep it on 10–15 minutes after the main light turns off, then switch it off. This ensures a smooth transition into the plant's “sleep” period and avoids sudden light changes.
UV Light
Use UV light for 1–3 hours per day during the main light cycle. Adjust the duration depending on the plant type, and avoid overexposure to prevent leaf stress.
660nm Red Light
Seedling stage: 2–4 hours per day
Vegetative stage: 4–6 hours per day
Flowering stage: 6–12 hours per day
This supports photosynthesis, vegetative growth, and flowering. Adjust the duration based on how your plants respond.
It supports both horizontal and vertical suspension and is compatible with quantum board lights and strip lights.
We recommend the 60cm/GlowR40 for main lights up to 500 watts and the 90cm/GlowR80 for lights of 500 watts and above.
Absolutely! We've made significant improvements to the app, which now offers enhanced compatibility with both the GGS controller and power strips. With the updated app, you can easily manage your supplemental lights by setting custom on/off schedules, adjusting the light duration, and utilizing the one-touch smart control feature. This means you can automate your lighting system, ensuring your plants receive optimal light without the need for frequent manual adjustments, saving you time and effort while maintaining the ideal growing conditions.
